The service sector in Brazil expanded with the biggest rise since the fast growth records set ten years ago. This surge brought the service industries activity back to the levels before the pandemic. Government statistics agency IBGE released these optimistic numbers, setting a 3,7% growth figure for February, after seasonal adjustments. More then double the expected 1,5%.
The optimistic statistics for the service industry are the ninth straight month of expansion. The service sector makes up for around sixty-five percent of all activity in Brazil´s economy. Due to growth in the in the oil and agriculture export, and online sales, the logistics sector benefited heavily, with 8,7% of growth in the first two months of 2021.
