Brazil became Heineken´s largest consumer market, surpassing the United States. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Heineken’s consolidated beer sales volume rose 4.1% worldwide, and over 10% in Brazil. The Amstel and Devassa brands are primarily responsible for the increase in sales in the Brazilian market, the company said. Estimation of the Brands sales in Brazil exceeded 210 million liters last year. The increased sales allowed Heineken to expand its market share by one percent, up to 21.7%. Ambev, the biggest player in the Brazilian beer market lost 2.2% in the last quarter of 2019, with 59,1% of the beer market.
